Tina Fey and Steve Carell are teaming up again — and this time, their real-life friendship is just as sweet as their on-screen chemistry. After first working together on “Date Night” in 2010, the two comedy legends are reuniting for Netflix’s “The Four Seasons”, a series Fey co-created. Though they were once shy around each other, their bond has grown over time, and they now call each other true friends.

Tina Fey On Relationship With Steve Carell

“Steve Carell and I made a whole movie together without ever breaking through to the other side because we’re both very shy,” Fey said to the Hollywood Reporter, referring to the 2010 film Date Night, where the pair played a married couple. “Without anyone to make us talk, he and I would both sit in polite silence. After working with this big group, I feel like Steve and I are actually all-the-way friends now.”

Set to premiere May 1, “The Four Seasons” is a fresh take on the 1981 film, following four couples whose weekend getaway takes a turn after a sudden breakup shakes the group. Fey stars as Kate, alongside Will Forte, while Carell plays Nick, a longtime friend caught in the middle of the group’s shifting dynamics.

The series also features Colman Domingo, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Julia Lester, and more in a strong ensemble cast. Fey credits motherhood for helping her come out of her shell, and Carell’s easy charm helped their friendship bloom. Fans can expect plenty of laughs, heartfelt moments, and relatable relationship drama.
