Drew Barrymore Confirms New Movie With Adam Sandler Is Coming Eventually — And Hints at a Surprise Co-Star

Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler have been making magic together on-screen for more than 25 years — from “The Wedding Singer” to “50 First Dates” to “Blended”. Now, fans can officially start getting excited: they’re planning to reunite for another movie.
Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler Are Reuniting On Screen – Eventually
During the April 23 episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show”, Drew confirmed the good news when asked about working with Sandler again.
“That’s a yes. And it’s a matter of when, but I don’t think it’ll be too long because we’ve always done something every 10 years,” she said. “We’re running out of time; we’re past 10 years at this point.”
She explained that the delay isn’t for lack of interest — they’re just waiting for the right story.
“We’re constantly seeing each other and hanging out, so I think it’s always a matter of, ‘What is it?’ So we’re on the search for it because we’re happy when we’re together.”

Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler: From Young Stars to Family Life
Reflecting on how far they’ve come, Barrymore noted that both she and Sandler have grown up a lot since their first film together.
“When we started The Wedding Singer, we were both young and single and in our early 20s. Now we’re both parents and have girls of a certain age,” she said. “So what is the thing that’s going to sort of speak to what we do next? We’ve just got to find it.”

Teaming Up With Jennifer Aniston?
Barrymore also floated a fun idea: teaming up with Sandler and his frequent co-star Jennifer Aniston.
“I also am always fighting to do a movie with him and Jennifer Aniston. I so want to do a movie with the three of us,” she admitted.
Aniston starred with Barrymore in “He’s Just Not That Into You”, and with Sandler in “Just Go With It”, “Murder Mystery”, and “Murder Mystery 2”. Fans are already dreaming up what a three-way comedy collab might look like.
In a 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Barrymore shared that they’re throwing around all kinds of ideas for a new film — from quirky remakes to fresh, original stories.
“I keep pitching Death Becomes Her. We’ve talked about Three’s Company. Maybe it’s something original. I don’t know. There’s lots of fun ideas,” she said. “You know, when you wish for something so much, you don’t even care if saying it out loud will jinx it? You’re like, ‘I don’t even care. I’m just gonna say it. It’s too fun to dream about.'”
Whether it’s rom-coms, family films, or something totally new, one thing is clear: Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler aren’t done making movie magic together. Their next chapter is just a matter of time — and fans are more than ready.
