Blake Lively & Justin Baldoni’s Legal Battle to Be Unpacked in ‘He Said, She Said’ Documentary on Channel 5 and Investigation Discovery

The ongoing legal drama between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has captivated the public, intertwining Hollywood glamour with serious allegations. The two stars, known for their roles in “Gossip Girl” and “Jane the Virgin”, first joined forces for the highly anticipated film “It Ends With Us”. Directed by Baldoni, the film, based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, turned out to be a massive success at the box office, grossing over $350 million on a $25 million budget. What was initially a celebration of creativity soon became overshadowed by controversy.

Blake Lively filed a legal complaint against Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual misconduct during the film’s production. She also alleges that Baldoni hired a public relations firm to orchestrate a smear campaign against her, aiming to silence her. Baldoni has firmly denied the accusations and countersued Lively for $400 million, claiming her allegations are false and intended to damage his career and personal life.
As the legal battle intensifies, more baggage has come to light surrounding Baldoni’s role as the director. His career, already marked by a strong presence in both TV and film, is now facing significant scrutiny. Meanwhile, Lively’s involvement in the case has only amplified public interest, with both sides preparing for a courtroom showdown in March 2026.
In the midst of the legal chaos, a 90-minute documentary, “He Said, She Said: Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni”, will premiere on Channel 5 in the U.K. this Monday night, diving into the allegations, counterclaims, and public reactions. A 60-minute version, picked up by Investigation Discovery in the U.S., will air on March 31 and be available for streaming on Max and Discovery+. The documentary will look closely at the evidence from both parties and explore the role social media has played in shaping public opinion.

Denise Seneviratne, commissioning editor at Channel 5, commented, “This story has captivated the world, perpetuated by social media which is still gaining momentum. It feels really pertinent for us as a channel to be making this film within the context of ‘#MeToo.’ We’re very happy to be working with ITN on this UK feature-length version.”
The controversy has sparked important conversations about power dynamics, accountability, and power in Hollywood. With “It Ends With Us” being a box office hit and both Lively and Baldoni at the center of a high-profile legal battle, this saga is far from over, leaving both their careers and public images in the balance.
