FX has greenlit “Cry Wolf“, a new limited series starring Academy Award winners Olivia Colman (“The Favourite”) and Brie Larson (“Room”).
“Cry Wolf” Premise and Background
The psychological thriller comes from “The Affair creator” Sarah Treem and centers on a social worker (Colman) and a mother (Larson) caught in a moral firestorm after a teenage girl makes a disturbing claim of abuse.
Based on the Danish series Ulven Kommer, “Cry Wolf” explores trust, truth, and the gray areas in between. Both Colman and Larson will also serve as executive producers on the project, bringing serious star power both in front of and behind the camera.
Colman—who recently earned an Emmy nomination for her guest turn on “The Bear”—is no stranger to FX. Larson, fresh off an Emmy nod for her Apple TV+ limited series “Lessons in Chemistry”, continues to prove her range, moving between blockbusters like “Captain Marvel” and deeply emotional roles.
With Treem’s signature depth, and two powerhouse actresses leading the charge, “Cry Wolf” is shaping up to be one of FX’s most anticipated dramas yet.
