Joel McHale of “Community” Shares An Update on The Long-Awaited Movie Reunion

The long-awaited “Community” movie is finally becoming a reality! After years of anticipation and a fanbase chanting “six seasons and a movie,” it looks like the study group will finally reunite on the big screen. From being a canceled NBC show to a cult favorite, “Community” has always exceeded expectations, and now the movie promises to do the same.
“Community” Movie Update
In a recent update on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s podcast “Dinner’s on Me“, Joel McHale gave a glimpse into the production, sharing:
“Well, we got the money, which is one of the harder things to do. And everyone’s in, so that’s the other. It’s really coming down to schedules, and a script was written. So all that is real. And I know that we’ve been talking about it for literally years, but it will happen, and there’s just, you know, it’s just getting those schedules together… Yeah. I’m not going to tell you anything about it. I’ll just say, everybody dies.” This quote offers a fun and somewhat mysterious insight into the movie’s process — while logistics are still being worked out, the team is all in, and fans are on the edge of their seats.
“Community” Cast: Who Is Returning?
The movie is shaping up to be an epic conclusion to “Community”, and the internet is buzzing with updates. Cast members like Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jim Rash are confirmed to return, but the big question is whether Donald Glover (Troy) will be back. His busy schedule has caused some uncertainty, but fans are still hopeful for a reunion of Troy and Abed.

With Dan Harmon returning to write the script, fans can expect the same meta-humor, pop culture references, and unexpected twists that made the show a fan favorite. While the plot might involve a time jump or a class reunion, whatever direction they take, there will surely be laughs, surprises, and touching moments.

Streaming helped “Community” find a new generation of fans, and now the movie will fulfill the long-awaited “six seasons and a movie” prophecy. If it’s a hit, there’s potential for an expanded Greendale Cinematic Universe. Stay tuned!
