10 Must-Watch Horror Films and Shows on Hulu to Give You Chills This Fall
As fall is here, that means Halloween and therefore, spooky season has commenced! There are lots of horror movies & shows to watch this month and we have compiled a list of 10 to stream exclusively on Hulu.
Horror Movies
1. “Hold Your Breath”
“Hold Your Breath” is the newest addition to Hulu’s horror lineup, starring Sarah Paulson in the lead role. With a strong supporting cast that includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Annaleigh Ashford, the film is sure to be a hit. The premise follows “A woman in 1930s Oklahoma, amid the region’s horrific dust storms, who is convinced that a sinister presence is threatening her family”. “Hold Your Breath” premieres on Hulu on October 3.
2. “Run”
“Run” is an original Hulu movie starring Sarah Paulson. The film follows a disabled teenager who begins to suspect that her mother is hiding significant secrets about her upbringing. With intense action scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat, the movie features outstanding performances from Kiera Allen and Paulson. Allen became the second wheelchair-using actress to star in a horror film, following Susan Peters. Upon its release in 2020, it became Hulu’s most successful original film.
3. “Fresh”
“Fresh” is a psychological horror movie that dives into the complexities of modern dating and “red flags” in relationships. Noa, (played by Daisy Edgar Jones) becomes frustrated with online dating and meets a man, Steve (Sebastian Stan) at a grocery store. They end up going on a date and an eventual weekend getaway but she quickly finds out that he is not at all what he seemed like.
4. “False Positive”
“False Positive” is a psychological horror film that follows a couple, Lucy and Adrian, who are trying to conceive. After months of effort, they meet their dream fertility doctor, Dr. Hindle. However, after becoming pregnant with a healthy baby girl, they start to notice something very off about Dr. Hindle. Lucy is played by Ilana Glazer, while Justin Theroux portrays Adrian. Glazer also co-wrote the script with director John Lee. With a haunting performance by Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Hindle, this film is sure to give you the chills.
5. “Jagged Mind”
“Jagged Mind” follows Billie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) who is dating the mysterious, Alex (Shannon Woodward). Billie starts to experience memory loss, blackouts, and strange visions which lead her to discover that she is stuck in a time loop. The trippy psychological movie is a great paranormal movie to watch with two strong compelling performances.
6. “Little Monsters”
“Little Monsters” was the first Hulu movie to ever be released in late 2019. The film stars Academy Award winner, Lupita Nyong’o as a kindergarten teacher named Miss Caroline, who must protect her young students during a sudden zombie outbreak. The film balances horror and comedy while showcasing the lengths that a teacher will go to protect her students when they are in danger.
7. “Bad Hair”
“Bad Hair” is a horror black comedy set in the 1980s that follows Anna (Elle Lorraine), a young woman trying to succeed in the competitive world of music television. Desperate to fit in, she gets a new hairstyle that takes on a life of its own, leading to terrifying consequences. The film explores themes of beauty standards and identity while blending humor and horror in a unique way.
8. “No Exit”
“No Exit” is a horror film based on the novel of the same. It follows Darby, a young woman who becomes stranded at a rest stop during a snowstorm. While trapped with a group of strangers, she discovers that one of them has kidnapped a girl and is hiding her in a van outside. “No Exit” is a perfect suspenseful movie to watch with your friends this Halloween.

With numerous episodes to explore, now is the perfect time to start watching this fall!
10. “Grotesquerie”
At the heart of “Grotesquerie” lies a series of heinous crimes that have shaken a small community to its core. Detective Lois Tryon, portrayed by the talented Niecy Nash-Betts, finds herself entangled in a web of personal and professional turmoil as she investigates these disturbingly personal crimes. Haunted by the feeling that someone, or something, is taunting her, Tryon must confront her own inner demons while navigating the strained relationships with her daughter and her husband, who remains in long-term hospital care. Episodes premiere on Hulu on Thursdays and air on FX on Wednesdays.
