Netflix Christmas Movie Lineup for 2024: 5 New Holiday Films Coming to Netflix
While it may not yet look a lot like Christmas, we are still very excited for Netflix’s upcoming slate of holiday movies. This week, they released trailers for five new films, and we can’t contain our excitement! All we want for Christmas this year are brand-new movies to snuggle up with, along with hot cocoa and candy canes. Here are the five new Netflix Christmas movies joining the platform this holiday season.
1. “Meet Me Next Christmas” (November 6)
Imagine this: it’s the busiest travel day of the year. Airports across the country are in chaos, with flights canceled left and right. Amid the stressed-out travelers, Layla (Christina Milian) just wants to get home for Christmas. When her flight is abruptly axed, she finds herself surrounded by grumpy passengers. Just when it seems all hope is lost, a little holiday magic intervenes.
Enter James (Kofi Siriboe), who stands out in the crowd. Their eyes lock across the bustling terminal, and it’s as if someone turned up the holiday lights. As they bond over shared frustrations, an instant connection forms—electric and charming. Instead of exchanging numbers, James proposes a romantic idea: they’ll meet again one year later at a Pentatonix concert on Christmas Eve. Caught up in the moment, Layla agrees, setting the stage for a year filled with anticipation.
Fast forward to a year later, and Layla is on a mission to snag those elusive concert tickets. This isn’t just any show; it’s the one where she’ll reunite with James. But securing tickets is tougher than getting a coveted holiday gift. As Christmas Eve approaches, Layla’s determination grows, and just when all seems lost, a friend suggests hiring a personal concierge.
Enter Teddy (Devale Ellis), a charismatic concierge with the connections to make Layla’s dreams come true. As Teddy works his magic, their chemistry ignites, leading Layla into an unexpected love triangle. With Christmas looming, will Layla make it to the concert? And who will capture her heart—James from the past or the charming Teddy?
“Meet Me Next Christmas” debuts on Netflix on November 6.
2. “Hot Frosty” (November 13)
Imagine a world where your childhood dreams of building a snowman that comes to life actually come true—but with a twist that’s decidedly more grown-up. That’s the premise of “Hot Frosty”, Netflix’s latest holiday rom-com. But this isn’t just any snowman; this frosty fellow is set to bring serious heat to a small town and one lucky lady’s life.
At the heart of this whimsical tale is Kathy, played by the ever-charming Lacey Chabert. Kathy is a widow navigating life after losing her husband to cancer two years ago. Running the town diner keeps her busy, but her life has become as exciting as watching icicles form. Everything changes when a mysterious, well-chiseled stranger arrives, claiming to be a snowman who has found himself very much alive and confused about his new human existence.
Enter Dustin Milligan as Jack, the dashing snowman-turned-man. Jack gives Kathy a crash course in rediscovering the joy of the holiday season. With childlike wonder and excitement for all things new, he’s like a puppy in a pet store—if that puppy looked like he just stepped off the cover of Abdominal Snowmen Monthly. Jack’s infectious naivety melts away the frosty exterior Kathy has built around her heart, sparking a whimsical and heartwarming connection.
As Jack helps Kathy laugh and love again, she teaches him about the complexities of human life. Imagine The Little Mermaid meets Frosty the Snowman, sprinkled with the charm of Magic Mike. The central question emerges: will Jack’s newfound humanity be enough to keep him from melting away when things heat up? And can Kathy open her heart to love again, even if that love comes from an unconventional, formerly frozen package? “Hot Frosty” premieres on November 13.
3. “The Merry Gentlemen” (November 20)
Get ready for “The Merry Gentlemen”, a rom-com that’s so hot, it might just melt all the snow at the North Pole! This isn’t your typical Hallmark movie—think abs, dance moves, and enough holiday spirit to make even the Grinch crack a smile.
Imagine this: a small-town venue facing closure, a determined dancer with a wild idea, and a group of hunky guys willing to strip down to save Christmas. It’s the perfect recipe for the most entertaining holiday season ever!
This delightful film stars Britt Robertson and Chad Michael Murray, and let me tell you, their on-screen chemistry is as warm as a freshly baked batch of gingerbread cookies. But it’s not all about the eye candy (though there’s plenty of that!). This movie is packed with heart, humor, and a dose of holiday cheer.
“The Merry Gentlemen” premieres on Netflix on November 20.
4. “Our Little Secret” (November 27)
Lindsay Lohan is back, and she’s bringing a sleigh full of drama this holiday season with Netflix’s Our Little Secret! This festive flick is packed with more twists than a candy cane factory, and you won’t want to miss a single moment.
Picture this: Lindsay plays Avery, who’s headed home for the holidays and ready to cozy up with her boyfriend Cameron’s family. Sounds like a classic Hallmark setup, right? Not quite! When she arrives, she’s hit with a shocking twist—Cameron’s sister Cassie is dating none other than Avery’s childhood best friend and first love, Logan. Talk about awkward family dinners!
Avery and Logan try to keep their past under wraps, but we all know secrets have a way of spilling out. Get ready for a whirlwind of emotions, meddling family members, and enough festive chaos to make you appreciate your own holiday gatherings.
“Our Little Secret” hits Netflix on November 27th, just in time for some binge-watching while you dodge your relatives over Thanksgiving!
5. “Carry-On” (December 13)
Talk about a holiday vibe switch! In “Carry-On,” holiday travel becomes even more difficult than usual. The premise follows a “mysterious traveler” (Jason Bateman) who blackmails Ethan Kopek (Taron Egerton), a young TSA agent, into allowing a dangerous package to slip through security and onto a Christmas Eve flight.”
The terrorist tricks Ethan into allowing an extremely dangerous carry-on package to bypass the security scanner and board a Christmas Eve flight. This puts everyone on the plane and at the airport in danger and puts their lives on the line adding major stakes for the film. This holiday thriller may be very different from typical Christmas movies, but it is set to be one of the buzziest releases of the season!
With an amazing cast, “Carry-On” is sure to be a hit when it premieres on Netflix on December 13.
