“Lupin” Season 4 Has Started Production: Here’s What We Know About The Upcoming Season
Netflix has officially announced the return of its global hit “Lupin” for a fourth season, with production already underway in Paris. Omar Sy is once again stepping into the stylish shoes of Assane Diop, the charismatic gentleman thief who has captivated audiences across France and around the world.

The French-language crime drama has been a standout success for Netflix, with its clever plotting, thrilling heists, and Sy’s magnetic performance. The show has earned a spot among the platform’s all-time most-watched non-English series, with its first three parts securing the third, sixth, and tenth places in Netflix’s global rankings—a rare feat for a French-language show.
Joining Sy in the new season are returning cast members Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, and Laïka Blanc-Francard, ensuring that the core dynamic that fans have grown to love will remain intact.

Sy’s role in “Lupin” has solidified his status as one of the most internationally recognized French actors of his generation. He first rose to global prominence with the critically acclaimed film “The Intouchables”, and has since built an impressive career with roles in major Hollywood productions like “Jurassic World” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. Most recently, he stars opposite Kerry Washington in the action-thriller Shadow Force, which premiered in theaters this past weekend.
Created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan, and inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s legendary literary character Arsène Lupin, the upcoming season continues the tradition of high-stakes storytelling and intricate character work. The new eight-episode chapter is being directed by Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout, and Hugo Gelin. Writing credits include Mathilde Arnaud, Jean-Yves Arnaud, Florent Meyer, Tigran Rosine, and Pennda Ba.
Production is being handled by Gaumont and Carrousel Studios—the latter being the creative hub founded by Sy alongside filmmaker Louis Leterrier and producer Thomas Benski, bringing renewed creative energy to the franchise. “Lupin” streams on Netflix.
