Macaulay Culkin is officially heading back to our screens, this time in the Prime Video series Fallout.
According to Deadline, Culkin will join Fallout season 2 in a recurring role, making this his first major role since American Horror Story: Double Feature in 2021. While his exact character hasn’t been confirmed, reports tease that he’ll play a “crazy genius-type character.”

Fans are already speculating, with one Reddit user even comparing Culkin’s ear shape to the New-Vegas Fallout faction, Caesar.
The series, based on the beloved video game franchise, follows members of Vault 33 as they explore the wasteland left behind after nuclear war. Season 2 is set to drop on Dec. 16, 2025, and Culkin himself confirmed the news with a simple Instagram post saying,“Yep. It’s happening.”
While we wait to see his mysterious new role unfold, let’s take a look back at seven of Culkin’s most iconic performances.
1) Miles Russell (Uncle Buck)
Before Macaulay Culkin became Kevin McCallister in Home Alone, he played Miles Russell in Uncle Buck. Directed by John Hughes, the film stars John Candy as Buck, a laid-back uncle who suddenly finds himself babysitting his brother’s kids, Miles, Maizy, and their older sister Tia.
What starts as a simple babysitting gig quickly spirals into chaos. Culkin steals the spotlight as Miles, the hilariously blunt and overly curious kid who delivers perfect comic relief in the film’s more serious moments.
This family comedy helped set the stage for Culkin’s lasting mark in Hollywood.
2) Kevin McCallister (Home Alone)

Culkin’s breakout role as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone, turned him into a household name at the early age of ten years old.
The hilarious Christmas classic follows the McCallisters, a big family who accidentally leave eight year old Kevin behind while heading to Paris for the holidays. While the young boy revels in his opportunity to be home alone, he notices two petty thieves trying to rob his home. As his parents race home to their young child, Culkin’s character takes matters into his own hands creating a series of tricks and traps that are bound to leave you in laughter.
His mix of charm and mischief cemented Kevin as one of the most iconic kid characters in movie history. This breakout role undoubtedly propelled his acting career, making him an acting icon for decades to come.
3) Kevin McCallister (Home Alone 2: Lost in New York )

Culkin brought back his smart-mouthed charm as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and it’s just as iconic as the first.
A year after accidentally leaving their son, home alone, the McCallister family makes plans to spend Christmas in Florida. The young McCallister boy manages to make it to the airport with the rest of his family, however he ends up on the wrong flight landing in New York City.
Exploring the Big Apple on his own seems like a dream until he runs into the same petty thieves as last time, but now they’re escaped criminals.
Culkin’s performance is funny, charming, and unforgettable. Whether it’s the holiday season or you just need a good laugh, both Home Alone movies are must-watches and you can stream them now on Disney+.
4) Richard Tyler (The Pagemaster)

Culkin takes on the role of Richard Tyler in the live-action animated adventure The Pagemaster. Tyler is an overly cautious child who seeks shelter in a library during a thunderstorm. Before he can call his parents, he slips and passes out, waking up inside an animated world filled with classic tales like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Treasure Island.
Culkin got to show off both his acting and voice talents, with a star studded cast that also includes Whoopi Goldberg and Patrick Stewart as some of the animated characters.
The Pagemaster is available to buy on Prime Video and Apple TV+.
5) Thomas J. Sennett (My Girl)

Culkin is joined by Ana Chlumsky in the tear-jerking coming of age film, My Girl. Chlumsky stars as Vada and Culkin as Thomas J. Sennet, a shy kid with endless allergies who is often picked on by other children. Despite Chlumsky’s character brushing him off at first, the two grow close as she deals with some tough moments in her young life.
Far from his usual comedic roles, Culkin melted hearts in his role as a sweet and sensitive best friend to Vada. Their innocent bond and the unforgettable, heartbreaking ending, proved he could handle deeper, more emotional roles.
My Girl has even been named one of Time’s Top Ten Saddest Children’s Movies, so have the tissues ready before you hit play.
6) Richie Rich (Richie Rich)

In 1994, Culkin took on the role of the world’s richest kid in Richie Rich, based on the classic comic book character. Rich might have all the money in the world, but what he doesn’t have are friends. That changes when his parents are kidnapped, and he teams up with a group of kids to track them down. Along the way, he not only saves the day but finally finds real friendship.
This movie is light, funny, and full of charm, giving fans one more chance to see Culkin shine on the big screen before he stepped back from acting at just fourteen.
7) Roland (Saved!)

In 2004, Culkin returned to screens in the satirical teen comedy, Saved! While the film is led by Jena Malone, Culkin still manages to shine in his role as Roland, a sharp-witted teen who uses a wheelchair.
The story follows Mary, a Christian high schooler who gets pregnant after a misguided attempt to “save” her boyfriend. When her friends turn on her, she finds comfort in the school misfits, Roland and Cassandra, played by Eva Amurri.
According to Rolling Stone, Culkin nailed the part, bringing a sly, nuanced humor to the film. The cast also includes Mandy Moore, Mary-Louise Parker, Heather Matarazzo, and Chad Faust.
Mixing comedy with big themes like faith and religion, this coming of age film still hits today. You can stream Saved!, now on Tubi.
8) Mickey (American Horror Story: Double Feature)

After some time away from big projects, Culkin surprised fans with a bold return in American Horror Story: Double Feature, the tenth season of the horror drama anthology series. This season follows a family that relocates to a quiet beach town for the winter, only to realize the locals aren’t exactly what they seem. Culkin plays Mickey, a queer, drug addicted, sex worker and struggling screenwriter who can’t seem to finish anything he starts. His character shows up in Red Tide, the first half of the two-part season.
His role as Mickey, was dark, edgy, and wildly different from his childhood work, proof he still knows how to keep audiences hooked. Fans loved his performance, with The Independent noting one viewer even called him “literally a perfect fit” for the show.
You can catch Culkin in this creepy, horror drama series, now streaming on Hulu.
