“Oh What Fun”: Michelle Pfeiffer Leads Star-Studded Holiday Comedy – Coming to Prime Video December 3
Michelle Pfeiffer is trading her apron for adventure in the upcoming Christmas comedy “Oh. What. Fun.”, streaming December 3 on Prime Video. Directed by Michael Showalter (“The Idea of You”), the film offers a hilarious and heartfelt twist on the holiday movie formula, anchored by Pfeiffer’s performance as the ultimate festive matriarch who’s finally had enough.
“Oh What Fun” Premise
Pfeiffer stars as Claire Clauster, the glue that holds her eccentric family together year after year. From elaborately decorated cookies to color-coded gift wrap, Claire has long been the mastermind behind the family’s perfectly orchestrated Christmases. But this season, things take an unexpected turn: her husband and grown children, distracted by their own holiday chaos, completely forget about her.
Rather than stick around and stew in disappointment, Claire decides to ditch the to-do lists and treat herself to a long-overdue solo adventure. With no meals to prepare or stockings to stuff, she rediscovers the joy of a holiday on her own terms. Meanwhile, her bewildered family scrambles to locate her and make things right—before Christmas morning arrives.
Adapted from a short story by Chandler Baker (who also co-wrote the screenplay), “Oh What Fun” blends sharp comedy with a warm reminder about the true spirit of the season. Pfeiffer’s Claire questions why Santa gets all the credit when moms do all the work—something she wryly notes in the film’s teaser: “Why does Saint Nick get all the credit? Moms do all the work—and nobody mentions what Mrs. Claus does.”
The film features an impressive ensemble cast, including Dominic Sessa (“The Holdovers”), Chloë Grace Moretz, Felicity Jones, Maude Apatow, Devery Jacobs, Havana Rose Liu, Danielle Brooks, Denis Leary, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, and Joan Chen.
