Netflix Renews Some Of Your Favorite Shows: All The Big Announcements

At its 2025 upfront presentation in New York City, Netflix announced a sweeping lineup of series renewals and new show orders, doubling down on its most popular franchises while expanding into fresh creative territory. From reality competition thrillers to teen romance and political intrigue, the streamer delivered a robust slate of content that speaks to the breadth of its audience—and its confidence in where the platform is headed.
1) “Bridgerton”
“Bridgerton”, Netflix’s breakout Regency-era romance, has been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6, reaffirming its place as one of the platform’s most successful and enduring series. The announcement came via a special edition of Lady Whistledown’s society pamphlet, keeping with the show’s signature style.
While Season 4 is slated to premiere in 2026 and will focus on Benedict Bridgerton, fans can expect upcoming seasons to explore the love stories of Francesca (Hannah Dodd), whose emotional journey begins in Season 3, and Eloise (Claudia Jessie), the fiercely independent Bridgerton sibling who has been waiting in the wings since Season 1. Showrunner Jess Brownell will continue to lead the series alongside executive producers Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and others.

2) “Love on the Spectrum”
In the world of unscripted television, Netflix renewed the heartfelt dating series “Love on the Spectrum” U.S. for a fourth season. The Emmy-winning reality show, which follows young adults on the autism spectrum as they explore love and relationships, premiered its third season on April 2 and quickly climbed into Netflix’s Global Top 10 for two consecutive weeks. The American edition follows two successful Australian seasons and has won five Emmys over the past two years for outstanding casting and directing. Executive producers Karina Holden and Cian O’Clery return to helm the series, which continues to earn praise for its authenticity and compassion.

3) “Million Dollar Secret”
Also returning is the gripping reality competition “Million Dollar Secret”, renewed for a second season after debuting in March. The format centers around twelve contestants, one of whom secretly holds a million-dollar prize while the others attempt to uncover their identity and eliminate them to claim the cash. Hosted by Peter Serafinowicz, the series builds intense suspense as alliances shift and strategies evolve. “This is a game of strategy and alliances, where predators can become prey in the blink of an eye,” Netflix teases. Produced by Wheelhouse U.K. and Spoke Studios, the series was crafted by showrunner Charles Wachter, with Glenn Hugill, Will Nothacker, Russ Friedman, and others serving as executive producers.

4) “Star Search”
Netflix also made a splash by ordering a revival of the iconic talent competition series Star Search, which originally helped launch the careers of Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears. The new version will stream live twice a week, featuring viewer voting that determines which contestants progress. Categories will include music, dance, comedy/variety, and kids, with eliminations each week adding to the live-event momentum. “Each episode will spotlight the best up-and-coming performers… making every live episode an unmissable event,” reads the official description. Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, Madison Merritt, and Elaine Metaxas will executive produce, with Jason Raff set as showrunner. Hosts and judges will be announced later.

5) “The Diplomat”
In a bold move, Netflix renewed the political thriller The Diplomat for a fourth season, even before the premiere of Season 3. The series, created by Debora Cahn and starring Keri Russell, has quickly become one of Netflix’s flagship dramas. According to the streamer, Season 1 pulled in over 173 million viewing hours in its first four weeks, while Season 2 spent four weeks in the Global Top 10. In Season 4, Ambassador Kate Wyler faces high-stakes chaos after accusing Vice President Grace Penn (Allison Janney) of terrorism, just as the President dies and Grace ascends to power. “Kate steps into a role she never wanted, with a freedom she never expected,” Netflix teases. Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, and others return, with Bradley Whitford joining the cast in a pivotal role.

6) “My Life with the Walter Boys”
The teen romance series My Life with the Walter Boys was similarly renewed for a third season, also ahead of its Season 2 release. Based on Ali Novak’s beloved YA novel, the show follows Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a teenage girl who moves in with her late mother’s best friend, Katherine (Sarah Rafferty), and her massive family of ten boys and one daughter. The upcoming second season, which recently wrapped production in Calgary, Canada, is expected later this year. Series regulars including Noa LaLonde, Ashby Gentry, Johnny Link, and Corey Fogelmanis will return. The show’s early renewal is a clear signal that Netflix sees long-term potential in its charming, emotionally resonant narrative.

7) “Survival of the Thickest”
Netflix also confirmed that Michelle Buteau’s hit dramedy Survival of the Thickest will return for a third and final season. Inspired by Buteau’s book of essays, the series follows Mavis Beaumont, a plus-sized, newly single Black woman who finds herself rebuilding her life with courage, humor, and style. “She’s determined to not only survive but thrive with the support of her chosen family, a positive attitude, and a cute v-neck with some lip gloss,” reads Netflix’s official description. The final season will premiere this fall and promises to bring Mavis’s story to a heartfelt conclusion.

8) Dan Levy (Series Netflix Order)
Adding a fresh voice to its comedy lineup, Netflix announced a new untitled series from Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott, with Levy set to star alongside Taylor Ortega and Laurie Metcalf. The eight-episode dark comedy follows two “deeply incapable siblings” who are blackmailed into the world of organized crime. Levy, who also serves as showrunner, said, “I’m so excited to be bringing this truly chaotic family story to life with Netflix… it’s been my life’s mission to get to call Laurie Metcalf ‘mother.’” The series marks the latest project under Levy’s overall Netflix deal following his 2024 feature debut, Good Grief.

9) “The Four Seasons”
Finally, Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield’s resort-set comedy “The Four Seasons” was renewed for a second season just days after its May 1 debut. “We are so grateful that audiences worldwide share our love of cozy sweaters, drinks by the ocean, and picking fights in a hot tub,” said the co-creators in a statement. The first season follows a group of longtime friends whose vacation traditions unravel into chaos, and fans can expect the group’s antics to continue in Season 2’s next tropical getaway.

Altogether, these announcements reflect a confident and varied programming slate as Netflix looks to 2026 and beyond. With a mix of renewed favorites and intriguing new concepts, the streamer continues to invest in stories that capture hearts, stir conversation, and spark global buzz.
