Nicole Kidman Teaming up with “Big Little Lies” Author for New TV Series
Nicole Kidman continues to be the queen of television! No one works as hard as Nicole, who already has multiple series and movies in development. She was last seen in “The Perfect Couple” for Netflix and is starring in the upcoming erotic thriller “Babygirl” for A24, which is already generating Oscar buzz for Best Actress. Following hit series like “Nine Perfect Strangers” and “Big Little Lies,” Nicole is reuniting with Australian author Liane Moriarty for yet another series.
Liane is behind the books “Big Little Lies” and “Nine Perfect Strangers,” both of which Kidman starred in adaptations of. Now, she is collaborating with Liane on the mystery thriller “Here One Moment.” Additionally, she filmed another adaptation, “The Last Anniversary,” last year, which is awaiting release. Thus, “Here One Moment” marks Kidman’s fourth collaboration with the bestselling author.

“Big Little Lies” currently has a third season in development. Originally intended as a one-season limited series, it returned for a second season due to immense critical and commercial success. While the second season did not receive as much acclaim as the first, it was still well-received and beloved. Since the end of the second season in 2019, fans have been clamoring for the Monterey Five to reunite. Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, who developed the series with acclaimed writer David E. Kelley and Liane Moriarty, are now working on the third season. The scripts are being written and the cast cannot wait to return.
“Nine Perfect Strangers” premiered on Hulu in the summer of 2021 and was the most-watched premiere on the streamer at the time. The series features Kidman as a Russian founder of a wellness resort and boasts a stellar cast, including Melissa McCarthy, Regina Hall, and Luke Evans. It was renewed for a second season in the summer of 2023 and is currently awaiting release. The second season is expected soon, as it was teased in Hulu’s upcoming slate of shows during an Emmys commercial in September. This season stars Kidman alongside Emmy winners Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, and Murray Bartlett. “The Last Anniversary” is an upcoming Australian series that Kidman also worked with Liane on. The premise follows Sophie Honeywell who inherits a house on Scribbly Gum Island, left to her by her ex-boyfriend’s great-aunt Connie, however, the island has many secrets.

Here One Moment takes place on what starts as a routine plane ride, but quickly turns into a surreal journey where passengers and crew are faced with the unthinkable: learning when and how they will die. According to the official synopsis, “Aside from a delay, the flight is supposed to be smooth, with no issues, and a safe landing. But something extraordinary happens during the flight — every passenger learns their fate from a mysterious figure known as ‘The Death Lady.’ Strangely, no one remembers seeing her board the plane. Months later, one passenger dies exactly as predicted. Then two more. If you knew how much time you had left, would you live differently? Or try to outrun destiny?”
This gripping concept, mixed with Moriarty’s storytelling and Kidman’s on-screen magic, promises a show that’s impossible not to binge.
