More Mysteries, More Guest Stars, More Trouble for Charlie

Peacock’s hit mystery-of-the-week series Poker Face is revving up for another round of murder, deception, and Natasha Lyonne’s iconic raspy one-liners. The streaming service has officially announced that Season 2 will premiere this spring, and if you thought Season 1 was packed with twists, just wait until you see what’s in store for our favorite human lie detector, Charlie Cale.

The first season ended with Charlie narrowly escaping the clutches of casino fixer Cliff (Benjamin Bratt), only to find herself with a new problem—Beatrix Hasp (played by the legendary Rhea Perlman), who gave her a simple choice: work for her or be hunted down. Naturally, Charlie chose the open road, setting up another season of accidental crime-solving and near-death experiences.

The Guest Star Lineup is Out of Control

Season 1 delivered an impressive guest roster, but Season 2 is taking things up a notch with a cast so stacked it looks like a red carpet event. Get ready to see Awkwafina, John Cho, Cynthia Erivo, Giancarlo Esposito, Gaby Hoffmann, Katie Holmes, Carol Kane, John Mulaney, Kumail Nanjiani, B.J. Novak, Haley Joel Osment, Alia Shawkat, Method Man, Justin Theroux, and a whole lot more. Seriously, this is a who’s who of Hollywood’s coolest, quirkiest, and most talented performers. Peacock even teased that more names are still to be announced.

Bigger, Bolder, and Even More Bonkers

Creator Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne have promised that Season 2 will crank the dial up on everything that made Poker Face a hit. Charlie will be sleuthing her way through minor league baseball teams, big-box retailers, funeral homes, alligator farms, and even a grade school talent show. If that isn’t enough to sell you on the new season, I don’t know what will.

Visually, the show is taking inspiration from the gritty charm of ’70s American cinema, channeling the vibes of Robert Altman and Peter Bogdanovich. But at its core, Poker Face remains a love letter to classic episodic TV like Columbo and The Rockford Files—shows where the guest stars shine, the mysteries unravel with delicious suspense, and the lead character’s charisma pulls it all together.

Meet the New Showrunner: Tony Tost

Behind the scenes, Poker Face has a new showrunner in Tony Tost (The Terror, Longmire), taking over from Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, who are now working on Hulu’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. But don’t worry—Johnson and Lyonne are still very much involved, continuing to write, direct, and produce alongside a stellar team that includes Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, and Adam Arkin.

Twelve New Episodes? Don’t Mind If We Do!

If you thought Season 1’s ten episodes weren’t enough, good news: Season 2 is giving us twelve mystery-packed adventures. That’s twelve new cases, twelve new locations, and twelve chances for Charlie to barely escape death while solving crimes in her own delightfully unpolished way.

So, buckle up, grab your best road-trip snacks, and get ready for another season of sharp-witted detective work, all-star guest appearances, and the undeniable charm of Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale.

Poker Face Season 2 is coming soon, and we’re all in.
