Scarlett Johansson Says No to Instagram – Even to Promote Her New Blockbuster

Scarlett Johansson is making waves by staying off social media, refusing to join Instagram despite major promotional pushes for her upcoming movie, “Jurassic World: Rebirth“. The A-lister is staying true to herself and turning down the pressure, sticking to her guns and focusing on authentic work rather than chasing followers. She spoke about the reasoning in her new profile for InStyle magazine, out today.
Scarlett Speaks Out On Why She’s Not On Social Media
“I mean, even today, I got an email from Universal [Pictures], and they’re like, ‘Hey, would you consider joining Instagram in tandem with the release of Jurassic World: Rebirth?’ [I] get a lot of pressure to join social media,” she said. She also pegged the question, “Is there a way I could do this and stay true to who I am? It didn’t feel like I could.” Despite the constant push, Scarlett remains firm in her decision.

While she’s not diving into Instagram, Scarlett does acknowledge the potential from a business angle. She’s appeared in her skincare brand’s Instagram feed, “The Outset”, explaining, “I’m totally there. It’s funny and fun and minimally invasive.” But her personal presence on social media remains off-limits for now. She emphasized her preference for staying true to herself over following the social media trend.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” Cast Mates
Scarlett isn’t alone in skipping social media; stars like Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart have also stayed off the ‘gram, proving that talent still shines without the digital spotlight. Even without Instagram hype, Scarlett is still landing major roles, like her character in “Jurassic World: Rebirth”, where she’s part of a star-studded cast alongside Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey.
Instead of social media stunts, Scarlett is sticking to traditional promotion, like magazine covers and talk show appearances. She’s confident the movie will do just fine without the Instagram hustle—proving you don’t need a blue checkmark to stay on top. “Jurassic World: Rebirth” comes out July 2nd.
