“The Gilded Age” Season 3 — Marriage, Power Plays, and Twists Teased in New Trailer

HBO’s “The Gilded Age” is officially back on June 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and fans are more than ready. The opulent drama returns for its third season with bigger stakes, new romances, and plenty of social scheming.

“The Gilded Age” Season 3 Teaser
In a teaser clip, we see Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) urging her daughter, Gladys (Taissa Farmiga), that “marriage is a real opportunity” — hinting that more high-society maneuvering is ahead. Last season ended with a potential match between Gladys and the Duke of Buckingham, though Gladys doesn’t seem thrilled about it.

This time around, the Russells are climbing even higher in New York’s social ranks after the Opera War. Bertha is determined to secure her family’s legacy, while George Russell (Morgan Spector) risks everything on a bold railroad deal that could either make or break him.
Across the street, tensions are rising in the Brook household. Agnes (Christine Baranski) isn’t handling Ada’s (Cynthia Nixon) new position as lady of the house very well. Meanwhile, Peggy (Denée Benton) meets a Newport doctor, but his family disapproves of her career — a challenge many women of the time faced.

The show continues to boast an all-star cast, including Louisa Jacobson, Harry Richardson, and Nathan Lane. Julian Fellowes (“Downton Abbey”) is still at the helm, delivering sharp writing and rich character arcs, while directors Michael Engler and Salli Richardson-Whitfield keep the visual flair as lavish as ever.
Themes of ambition, sacrifice, and power remain central. George’s gamble in the railroad business mirrors the price of progress during this rapidly changing era. And of course, expect more jaw-dropping costumes and sets that capture the grandeur of the time. Fans are already buzzing with theories and excitement online. With so much at stake, Season 3 looks to be one of the most dramatic yet.
Mark your calendars — “The Gilded Age” returns June 22.
