Season 2 of “The Studio” is officially on the way, and with it comes a fresh wave of Hollywood’s biggest names ready to poke fun at the industry that made them. The Apple TV+ satirical cringe comedy—created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez—returns after a critically acclaimed first season that hilariously skewered the inner workings of a modern-day movie studio.

Known for its razor-sharp satire, stylish long takes, and a who’s-who of celebrity cameos, “The Studio” quickly became a cult favorite among both comedy fans and industry insiders. With Seth Rogen leading a powerhouse cast including Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders, the series has carved out a space where the absurdity of Hollywood is both celebrated and mercilessly mocked.

“The Studio”: Season 2 Guest Star Hopes

Now, as season 2 gears up for production, the buzz around which stars will be dropping by has only intensified.

1) Daniel Day-Lewis

Seth Rogen has his sights set high for season 2: “He’s the greatest living actor,” Rogen said to Variety, singling out Daniel Day-Lewis as his dream guest. “His process is so specific that I think that would be an interesting thing to explore on the show.”

Widely considered one of the finest actors in film history, Day-Lewis is a three-time Oscar winner known for disappearing into roles like Abraham Lincoln, Daniel Plainview, and Christy Brown. After announcing his retirement in 2017, his absence from Hollywood has only added to his mystique. A cameo in The Studio would mark a surreal and hilarious comeback for an actor whose method acting is practically mythologized. Rogen even joked, “Daniel, please consider a Zoom with us. We’ll pitch you a good idea!”

2) James Cameron

Evan Goldberg wants to take “The Studio” to new depths—literally—with legendary director James Cameron. “He’s a genius but he’s also known for sometimes getting angry,” Goldberg said, hinting at the comedic potential of blending Cameron’s visionary style with The Studio’s chaotic world. As the mind behind cinematic landmarks like “Titanic”, “The Terminator”, and “Avatar”, Cameron has repeatedly reshaped the film industry through technical innovation and bold ambition.

His obsession with deep-sea exploration and groundbreaking visual effects has made him one of the most fascinating figures in Hollywood. His famously intense directing style could offer a hilarious contrast if he were to play himself as an over-the-top auteur clashing with Rogen’s beleaguered studio head. A Cameron cameo could easily become one of the most iconic moments in the series.

3) Kristen Stewart

Chase Sui Wonders has her own pitch ready—and it’s all about Kristen Stewart. “It’s related to identity politics and if Kristen is dealing with a delicate matter, Quinn would attempt to relate to her… and get herself into hot water,” she explained, imagining the uncomfortable yet hilarious possibilities. Stewart, who shot to global fame with “Twilight”, has since transformed her career with critically acclaimed roles in films like “Spencer” and “Personal Shopper”.

Known for her cool, enigmatic presence and indie sensibilities, she’s become a Gen Z icon and a bold voice in conversations around gender and identity. Her self-awareness and ability to parody herself could make her a perfect fit for The Studio’s tone. Wonders added, “Quinn getting into hot water over owning her identity politics too hard would be a very fun sticky situation.”

4) Al Pacino

And while Kristen Stewart is on her wish list, Wonders also floated a wild idea involving Al Pacino. “There should be something about bringing back “Scarface” for an absurd amount of money and Al Pacino has sold out at this point,” she said, leaning fully into the show’s satire. Pacino is a legend of stage and screen, with a career that spans “The Godfather”, “Dog Day Afternoon”, and “Scent of a Woman”. His explosive energy and ability to balance gravitas with absurdity have made him one of the most imitated and revered actors in Hollywood. Imagining Pacino navigating a fake reboot of “Scarface” could give “The Studio” its most outrageous episode yet.

5) Leonardo DiCaprio

For Ike Barinholtz, one name towers above the rest: Leonardo DiCaprio. “He’s the guy,” Barinholtz said. “I don’t think he’s ever done a TV show. I think Leo is the golden goose.” DiCaprio has built his career on high-stakes performances in everything from “The Revenant” to “The Wolf of Wall Street” and Inception. Known for his dedication, charisma, and A-list mystique, DiCaprio rarely ventures outside of film—and has never done a television comedy. His presence on “The Studio” would be a headline-making surprise, and the idea of him satirizing his own fame could take the show to new heights.

6) Zendaya

Dewayne Perkins didn’t hesitate when asked who he wants to see next: “Zendaya,” he said. “She’s everything. She represents Hollywood in such a cool way, from being a child star to reaching the level that she’s reached.” From her Disney Channel roots to Emmy-winning performances in “Euphoria” and acclaimed roles in films like “Dune” and “Challengers”, Zendaya has emerged as one of her generation’s most versatile and beloved performers. She moves effortlessly between fashion icon, dramatic lead, and social media favorite. For Perkins’ character Tyler, a cool-headed publicist, a run-in with Zendaya could mean a PR crisis of epic proportions—or a starstruck meltdown.

7) Larry David

Keyla Monterroso Mejia thinks her former “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-star Larry David would be a perfect fit for “The Studio’s” ensemble. “He’d be a nice balance to all the chaos,” she said, suggesting his deadpan neuroses would play beautifully against the show’s high-strung characters. As the co-creator of Seinfeld and star of Curb, David is a comedy institution whose grumpy on-screen persona is beloved for its honesty and awkwardness. His appearances are rare and always memorable, often built around minor grievances turned into absurd social stand-offs. David playing himself in a setting full of Hollywood egos could provide a deliciously meta spin on his legendary curmudgeon act.
