Netflix’s Next Big Rom-Com? Lena Dunham’s “Too Much” Promises Star Power, Chemistry, and Summer Obsession

Lena Dunham is back on the small screen. Netflix has unveiled the first look and premiere date for her upcoming series “Too Much“, which will debut globally on July 10.

“Too Much” Premise
The romantic dramedy stars Meg Stalter as Jessica, a thirty-something New Yorker navigating heartbreak and burnout. After a devastating breakup and a string of personal missteps that make the city feel like a minefield of bad memories, Jessica relocates to London in search of solitude—channeling the spirit of a Brontë sister.

But plans for a quiet, drama-free life go awry when she meets Felix (played by Will Sharpe), a charming but problematic Brit who brings chaos along with undeniable chemistry. As their unconventional bond deepens, they’re forced to confront whether cultural differences—and personal baggage—can be overcome in the pursuit of love.

“Too Much” Cast and Production
“Too Much” features a star-studded cast including Michael Zegen, Janicza Bravo, Richard E. Grant, Rita Wilson, Naomi Watts, Andrew Rannells, Rhea Perlman, Emily Ratajkowski, and Adwoa Aboah.
Created by Dunham and Luis Felber, the series is written, directed, and executive produced by Dunham herself. Additional executive producers include Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Michael P. Cohen, Surian Fletcher-Jones, and Bruce Eric Kaplan. The show is a co-production between Working Title Television, Good Thing Going Productions, and Universal International Studios.

Described as an “ex-pat rom-com for the disillusioned,” “Too Much” comes from the creator of “Girls” and the producers of “Love Actually”, and explores whether love can still surprise you—especially when you least expect it. “Too Much” streams on Netflix on July 10. Vanity Fair had the first look at the photos.
