We know what you’re thinking: we’re already in the third week of the new year and Pop Viewers is FINALLY releasing their picks for this year’s most anticipated movies. Sorry for the delay, what can we say? We’re just a thorough bunch of cinephiles. Without further ado, here are five movies we are itching to see this year:
Beetlejuice 2
We all know what happens when you say his name thrice. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! The cult classic is back with a sequel! Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder reprise their iconic roles, this time adding newcomer, Jenna Ortega to the party.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
After being snatched from her home, the Green Place of Many Mothers, a young Furiosa falls in the middle of a war between two tyrants and their fight for dominance. Furiosa soon finds herself in a never ending battle to find her way home.

Challengers
No talk about Dune: Part 2?!!– Not this time. We’re just a little more excited for the release of Challengers, because who doesn’t like a love triangle? Zendaya plays Tashi, a tennis player turned coach, who has transformed her husband from a mediocre player to the real thing. After a slew of losses, Tashi enters her husband into a challenger event– the lowest tournament on a pro tour. Tensions begin to boil over as Tashi’s husband faces his opponent, her former lover.

Mickey 17
Robert Pattinson stars in Bong Joon-ho’s SciFi thriller, Mickey 17. A story that follows an expendable employee sent on a human journey to colonize the icy world of Niflheim. Once an iteration dies, another is regenerated, taking the former’s place with some of its memories still intact.
