Vanderpump Rules returns with a brand-new generation of SUR-vers working under restaurateur and former Real Housewife Lisa Vanderpump. According to the announcement for the new season, this dynamic group of “friends, frenemies, and lovers” are ready to shake things up. Pumptinis and new uniforms may be on the horizon, but the drama remains “as messy and as complicated as their iconic predecessors.”
The season spotlights the new cast as they navigate life inside Lisa’s legendary West Hollywood restaurant. The trailer teases them in action during their shifts—brainstorming cocktail names, mixing drinks, and even sneaking moments in the SUR back alley. And of course, there are hints of the personal-life fireworks to come: friendship fallouts, backstabbing, and more than a few steamy moments.
At BravoCon 2025, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum appeared on a panel to preview the forthcoming 12th season. Vanderpump told the audience this season has “a different flavor”—new, funny, and fast. She emphasized that they’re not trying to recreate seasons past but instead deliver “something different.”
NEW CAST
“They’re a wild bunch,” Vanderpump said at BravoCon. “
They’re a lot of fun. I like them all, for all their naughtiness and hi-jinks.” Vanderpump also called the new cast “naughtier, sexier, funnier” than the original stars.

The new cast includes Venus Binkley, Jason Cohen, Shayne Davis, Chris Hahn, Angelica Jensen, Marcus Johnson, Audrey Lingle, Natalie Maguire, Demy Selem, and Kim Suarez. Hahn is no stranger to reality TV — he previously appeared on Netflix’s 2022 series Dated & Related.
WHY THE REBOOT (AND A REMINDER OF SCANDOVAL)
According to Vanderpump, she “knew it was time” to move forward with a new cast. “We had to deal with people not wanting to film with each other,” she explained.
“Scandoval” took a real toll on the Vanderpump Rules crew. Nearly two years after Ariana Madix discovered that Tom Sandoval was having an affair with their co-star Raquel Leviss, the friend group still hasn’t recovered from the fallout.
A source told PEOPLE in November 2024 that production had been on a long pause and the network felt they’d hit a dead end with the OGs. “This is an attempt to recalibrate and bring the show back to the thing that made it such a success to begin with. It’s a fresh start,” the source said.

ORIGINAL CAST
The OG cast had mixed feelings about the reboot news.
Lala Kent — one of the show’s most outspoken (and let’s be honest, most quotable) stars — shared on Instagram: “I have such mixed feelings right now. It’s no secret I do not like change. This is the exception. I want to say thank you for rocking with us for so many years. This show changed my whole life. I’m unbelievably grateful for every moment…. We rocked this bitch until the wheels fell off.”

Ariana Madix echoed the sentiment in her own Instagram post, writing: “Vanderpump Rules, you will forever be that girl. I am forever grateful to have been a part of such an incredible cultural phenomenon.” She added that she’s “feeling at peace with closing this chapter,” noting, “I don’t know that these were the best days of our lives, but they were definitely something special.”
Katie Maloney, who’s been with the show since day one, took to her Instagram Stories and kept it simple: “It’s a mixed bag. But I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for the memories and the love the last 11 years.”
Vanderpump also expressed her gratitude in a press release announcing the reboot. “The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears, and everything in between,” she said. “I can’t thank enough those who have shared their lives. How I love you all. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules.”
