Get ready for more mayhem at Nevermore Academy—Netflix has officially renewed “Wednesday” for a third season. The announcement arrives just ahead of the highly anticipated Season 2 premiere on August 6, and it’s clear the eerie charm of Wednesday Addams isn’t fading anytime soon.

“Wednesday” Season 3 Preview
The timing couldn’t be better. With the second season set to roll out in two parts, fans are already buzzing about what lies ahead. The show’s continued success points to just how deeply audiences have embraced its gothic tone, clever storytelling, and of course, Jenna Ortega’s unforgettable performance as the iconic Wednesday Addams.
“Television has — and always will be — a team sport,” says co-creator and showrunner Alfred Gough to Netflix Tudum. “[Co-creator and co-showrunner] Miles [Millar] and I have been doing this long enough to know that shows like this don’t come along every day. It’s such an alchemy of writing, directing, acting, crew, streamer, studio, and fans. We remain grateful and excited to continue this journey and tell these stories with all of our partners.”

“Wednesday”: A Streaming Phenomenon with No Signs of Slowing Down
Since its debut, “Wednesday” has become a cultural phenomenon, earning the title of Netflix’s most-watched English-language series of all time. The first season captivated audiences with its blend of supernatural mystery, sharp wit, and teen angst—all wrapped up in a spooky, stylized aesthetic that pays homage to Tim Burton’s signature flair. Burton, who serves as an executive producer, brought his unmistakable touch to the series, helping to shape its tone and visual world.

Now, the creative team is aiming even higher. Season 3 promises to be the most ambitious yet, digging deeper into Wednesday’s character and the twisted world around her.
“Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can,” Gough explains. “We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”

Millar adds, “We will be seeing more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!” From new characters and unexpected twists to even more of the macabre humor fans love, the next chapter is set to deliver on all fronts. Viewers can expect the Addams Family universe to expand in bold and surprising ways, while still holding on to the elements that made the show such a breakout hit.
“Wednesday” Season 2 Release
And while fans wait for those new episodes, there’s plenty to look forward to right now. “Wednesday” Season 2 will premiere in two parts—Part 1 drops like a corpse on August 6, and Part 2 will arrive September 3. Until then, consider this your creepy, kooky reminder: Nevermore Academy is back in session—and it’s only getting stranger from here.
