Welcome to Your K-Era: Netflix Celebrates the Global Power of Korean Stories

You don’t need to speak Korean to feel the rush of adrenaline when the “Squid Game” countdown begins. Or to root for exhausted athletes in “Physical: 100.” Or to melt a little when love quietly blossoms in “When Life Gives You Tangerines”. And you definitely don’t need subtitles to know it’s time to run when the zombies come crashing through in “All of Us Are Dead”.
K-Drama Doesn’t Just Speak One Language – It Speaks To Everyone
Netflix is celebrating this global connection with a brand-new collection called “Welcome to Your K-Era”, a curated row on the platform that highlights the best of its Korean films, series, and reality shows. From gut-punch thrillers to swoon-worthy romances and reality competition with a twist, this collection proves that Korean entertainment is no longer a niche—it’s a worldwide phenomenon.
Stars Who Stan K-Era Shows
To mark the launch, Netflix teamed up with some unexpected fans of Korean pop culture. Martha Stewart, “Squid Game’s” T.O.P, and rapper Lil Yachty shared their love for K-dramas, K-pop, and all things K-culture in a special promo.
“Squid Game totally captured my imagination!” Stewart said to Netflix. “I had seen nothing quite like it, and I was so excited to discover how many more amazing Korean shows there are.”
T.O.P added, “I loved seeing fans around the world fall in love with Korean shows. It was such a nice experience to spend time with Martha and Lil Yachty and see how much they love K-culture. I’d join them for a K-drama marathon anytime.”
Even Lil Yachty, known for his bold style and hip-hop roots, chimed in: “Anyone who knows me knows I love K-culture and K-pop—Google it.”
