Prime Video teamed up with PopViewers for a star-studded “Vibes & Views” screening event celebrating the highly anticipated new series “Ballard” on Monday, July 7 in New York City. Held at NeueHouse, the exclusive screening brought out fans, influencers, and tastemakers for a sneak peek at the gripping crime drama ahead of its July 9 premiere.
“Ballard” Screening Kicks Off with A Bang
The evening kicked off with a pre-reception full of energy before attendees sat down to watch the first episode of the Bosch: Legacy spinoff. After the screening, PopViewers CEO Chris Witherspoon hosted a thoughtful Q&A with the show’s star Maggie Q, who takes on the lead role of Detective Renée Ballard.
The intimate event was packed with VIPs and digital creators, including Peter Vigilante, Amara June, and Giselle Diaz. Guests praised the show’s edge-of-your-seat storytelling and the way it breathes new life into Michael Connelly’s beloved characters.
In “Ballard,” Maggie Q plays Detective Renée Ballard, the head of the LAPD’s new cold case division. With minimal resources and a mountain of forgotten cases, Ballard dives into some of L.A.’s darkest mysteries, including a possible serial killer and a conspiracy that could shake the department to its core. Along the way, she gets help from a team of volunteers — and the legendary Harry Bosch himself, played once again by Titus Welliver.
The entire first season of “Ballard” drops Wednesday, July 9, exclusively on Prime Video. If the reaction at the “Vibes & Views” screening is any indication, Prime Video has another must-watch hit on its hands.
