Heidi Klum is making her fashion-forward return to “Project Runway”, and fans of the iconic design competition have plenty to celebrate. The long-running series is getting a fresh reboot and a brand-new home, set to premiere Thursday, July 31, on Freeform—with next-day streaming available on Hulu and Disney+.
Heidi Klum: Homecoming for “Project Runway”
In a newly released teaser, Klum marks her return with a simple yet powerful line: “I’m back. And it’s good to be home.” Her comeback is more than just nostalgic—it marks a full-circle moment for the supermodel and TV personality who helped shape “Project Runway” into a pop culture staple when it first launched in 2004.
To the delight of longtime fans, she closes the teaser with a playful twist on her iconic send-off: “Get in, or you’re out.”
Season 21 will kick off with a two-episode premiere on Thursday, July 31, at 9 p.m. ET on Freeform. Both episodes will be available for streaming shortly after their linear debut on Hulu and Disney+, giving fans multiple ways to tune in. After that, new episodes will air weekly on Freeform at 10 p.m. ET. Klum will return as both host and judge for the new season, bringing her signature style, wit, and authority back to the runway. She’ll be joined by original judge and Elle magazine editor-in-chief Nina García, ensuring a sense of continuity that fans of the early seasons will appreciate.
Stylist and image architect Law Roach—best known for working with A-list celebrities like Zendaya—joins the panel, bringing a fresh and modern perspective. Meanwhile, Project Runway alum and fan-favorite Christian Siriano returns as the designers’ mentor, offering his signature mix of sharp critique and heartfelt support.
“Project Runway” first debuted on Bravo in 2004 and quickly revolutionized the reality competition genre. With its mix of high fashion, dramatic challenges, and memorable catchphrases, it became a cultural touchstone. The series spent five seasons on Bravo before moving to Lifetime, where it aired for 11 seasons. In 2019, it returned to Bravo for four more seasons—but now, it’s heading in a bold new direction.
This reboot marks not only a shift in platform but also an evolution in how audiences will engage with the show, combining traditional weekly TV airings with the convenience of streaming. It’s a strategic move by Disney to revitalize the brand across Freeform, Hulu, and Disney+, and position it to captivate both loyal viewers and a new generation of fashion fans.
