In a crowded field of crime dramas, Apple TV+ is turning up the heat with “Smoke”, a gripping new thriller from acclaimed writer Dennis Lehane (“Mystic River”, “Shutter Island”).

Inspired by real events and the hit Firebug podcast, the series stars Taron Egerton as enigmatic arson investigator Dave Gudsen and Jurnee Smollett as Detective Michelle Calderon, chasing down a pair of serial arsonists setting a city on edge.
Taron Egerton’s Past Work
Egerton is no stranger to high-stakes drama on Apple TV+—he previously starred in “Black Bird“, a chilling prison thriller that earned him Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Most recently, he led Netflix’s “Carry On”, a Christmas thriller that became one of the platform’s most-watched originals of all time.
