Torn between two boys, who happen to be brothers, again for another summer.

For its third and final season, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” series is back. And Belly (Lola Tung) must choose between the Fisher brothers, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) or Conrad (Christopher Briney), once and for all. The coming of age romance that follows this love triangle concludes the best-selling trilogy from Jenny Han’s franchise in an extended 11 episodes.

Back at Cousin’s, the fictional beach town where the protagonist has spent over many-a summer, Belly finds herself asking, again, where her heart lies. But in the third book, she finally makes her decision, leaving her with the inevitable reality, she will have to face her truth and break someone’s heart.

The Amazon Prime series follows Isabel “Belly” Conklin spending her summers at Cousins Beach with her mother Laurel, brother Steven and her mothers childhood best friend Sussanah with her two sons Conrad and Jeremiah. What sounds like a summer dream is met with unexpected challenges, tested relationships and friendships, falling in love unexpectedly, growing pains and one immeasurable loss to them all.

The trailer makes it clear that viewers are in for a roller coaster ride.

It’s been 2 years after season two’s events where Belly chose Jeremiah over Conrad. Now officially in their adulthood, the love birds want to get married. Their announcement is met with disencouragement from Belly’s mom but the couple seems set in their “I do’s.”

Viewers are shown the pair happily in love with Taylor Swift’s “Daylight” playing in the background. Belly’s in her junior year at Finch University and her future seems set. But there’s an abrupt change in the music. “Red” by Taylor Swift starts as Belly opens the front door at the Fisher’s beach house. Conrad, her first love, is standing right in front of her. He’s back after moving to California, shaking up what she thought she wanted. And like clockwork, he seems to always show up when it’s least convenient for Belly.

“The Summer I Turned Pretty”: What To Expect

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly earlier this year, Han teased that season 3 will have some “surprises.” “There are the things that they know and then there are things they think they know, and then there’s going to be, hopefully, things that surprise them.” she said.

The Cast

Will There Be A Revival?

The short answer is no. BUT Jenny Han does hold the rights to do so if she wants to. Talking to Entertainment Weekly last month, Han wasn’t opposed to the idea saying she’ll “never say never – I never do.” Han continues, “If the story is there, then I’m there. As a storyteller, you just get hit with inspiration all the time. If I had a really great idea that I was excited by, that I wanted to keep telling the story, and if [the stars] were excited to do it, then I would be so pumped. It really depends on if I feel like there is more story to tell.”
