The official logline reads: “A heroic female Naval Officer (Mbatha-Raw) becomes involved with the outwardly charismatic Secretary of Defense (Madden), only to discover he may be at the heart of a dangerous conspiracy.”

Set largely aboard the nuclear submarine USS Kansas, the story centers on Commander Katherine Decker, played by Mbatha-Raw. She’s a decorated officer whose loyalty is tested when she falls into a web of deception involving Secretary of Defense Webb Preston (Madden), a charming, tech-forward politician with secrets of his own.

Mercurio, known for crafting tightly-wound dramas, brings the same edge-of-your-seat storytelling to “Trinity”, joined by producers Jimmy Mulville and Wendy Mericle, and director Michael Cuesta (“Dexter”, “Homeland”), who helms the first two episodes.

The series marks a major reunion for Mercurio and Madden, whose last collaboration, “Bodyguard”, earned critical acclaim, a Golden Globe for Madden, and an Emmy nomination for Best Drama.

Trinity dives deep into themes of trust, loyalty, and power, exploring what happens when innovation collides with national security. With high-stakes political intrigue, complex characters, and a star-studded cast, this series is primed to become Netflix’s next big obsession.
