The Eyes of Tammy Faye
Watch in Theaters
Jessica Chastain fans aren’t going to want to miss this one! (And let’s face it- if you’re not a Jessica Chastain fan, who hurt you?!?) In this film, Chastain plays Tammy Faye Bakker, the televangelist who rose to fame in the 1970s and 80s alongside her husband, Jim Bakker. The two were beloved for their message of love and prosperity and created the world’s largest religious broadcasting network and theme park. However, as scandal and financial improprieties came to light, their self-constructed empire began to fall. There’s always going to be a bit of a camp element associated with Tammy Faye, but if early reviews are to be believed- Chastain and this biopic do a great job of revealing the human underneath the caricature we all know.
