What to Watch This Weekend

THE LOST DAUGHTER

Watch on Netflix

A vacation in Greece has never sounded so stressful! Olivia Colman and Dakota Johnson star in this film about a professor who takes a solo trip to Greece and becomes obsessed with a young mother. The professor’s obsession soon sparks hard-to-confront memories of her own time raising a child. This psychological thriller is Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut and has been earning rave reviews. We’re definitely taking this trip.

COBRA KAI: Season 4

Watch on Netflix

Kick into the new year in high gear! Netflix’s hit Karate Kid spin-off is back in action for a fourth season. In this season, longtime enemies Daniel and Johnny team up to take down the Cobra Kai dojo for good! By this point, we all know what to expect from this show- misunderstandings, friends becoming enemies, and people punching each other. (Sounds like a season of the Real Housewives!) But just like a big serving of comfort food, Cobra Kai is exactly the type of show we’re looking for this time of year.

THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT

Watch on Disney+

Star Wars fans rejoice! At long last, Boba Fett is getting his time in the sun- or, well, the stars. In this spin-off of Disney+’s “The Mandalorian” bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand set off to fight for Jabba the Hutt’s old territory. If this all sounds like jibberish to you, this is probably one you can skip. But for the true fans out there, we know you’ll be hitting up the galaxy for this one.

QUEER EYE: Season 6 (Watch on Netflix)

What better way to kick off the new year than with some guidance from the Fab Five! For the series’ first COVID-era season, the team is headed to Austin, Texas to help change lives in the Lone Star state. We’ve already got our french tucks ready!

DEATH TO 2021 (Watch on Netflix)

With a new covid variant raging, it’s not hard to say good riddance to this past year. If you need a reminder of just how many atrocious things we lived through, we now have this mockumentary to help. The cast features Hugh Grant, Lucy Liu, Stockard Channing, and Nick Mohammed. Here’s hoping we won’t need a follow-up for 2022!
